Islamorada Offshore Fishing Report 06/28/2017

mahimahiHello, Capt. Brian McCadie from Satisfaction Charters out of Robbie’s Marina with the Offshore Fishing Report.

The tuna bite is fantastic on The Humps. There have been very small fish on the Islamorada Hump, 4-8 pounders on the 409 Hump and 10-15 pounders on the Marathon Hump if you have live bait.

The dolphin bite has been good early in the day from 650-900 feet. It’s good earlier and not later. There are so many flying fish out there that the Dolphin are full by 11 a.m.

There isn’t a ton of big fish out there yet, but if you hunt for them you can find slammers as big as 30 pounds. Concentrate under frigate birds for the big fish right now and get out to 900-1,200 feet of water. Avoid flocks with more than 30 birds feeding as they are on massive schools of Skipjack Tunas.

Can’t wait to fish you soon!!
